Business writing

Organisations have many requirements for written material - from straightforward news and information, through analytical reports and insightful presentations to whole websites and strategic bids.  No matter the size of the job, I concentrate on delivering words that are fit for purpose - right for your audience, in the right tone and language, and crafted to achieve the right outcome.  Each assignment works to clear objectives and deadlines.

I can also help your employees make the best of their own writing skills by judicious editing - sensitive to their position as authors while making their words more appealing and improving flow and narrative.

I've written and edited websites, commercial bids, award entries, training materials, sales presentations, resource manuals and business reports.  And I can help train your staff to write more effectively through tailor made coaching and workshops.

Client case studies

I've joined four Serco bid teams, working on successful contracts worth between £100 million and £500 million.  My role has been to act as an independent sounding board for ideas, contribute to bid development, write and edit, and provide an objective view of the appeal of bid content.

For Sheffield LINk, a non-profit healthcare body, I created initial content for their website working alongside a design and development team and working in close conjunction with the in-house communications manager.

A regular stream of features, news and events is the lifeblood of a dynamic intranet.  For DePuy International I turn conversations with busy and hard-pressed scientists and marketing people into stories that appeal to all their employees.
